Live Your Life as a Project

“Your life is your biggest project. Decide what you want in your life, then plan your life like a project - with vision, goals, mini goals, timeline, then do it. Everything else is background noise. Many people spend months and years working on business projects at work or studying hard for their schools. But rarely do I meet someone who spends more than a day to really planning for their whole life. They only have some vague ideas in their minds about the life they want, but then they take no serious actions in planning how to achieve their life goals. Weird, isn't it?”

2

Focus Your Energy ON WHAT matters (and you good at)

“Work hard to develop your strength and focus your energy on the most important tasks or things that will help you achieve maximum outcomes and reach your goals. Everything else is just background noise that distracts you from your goals. You may hear a lot of management theories telling you about what skills to improve at work. They are good but improving your weaknesses should only be the second priority. You should focus most of your energy on developing what you are good at and making it even better. People who are good at everything usually turn out to be okay in life, but those who are great at a specific skill set or knowledge are the ones who excel and prosper in life at last.”

3

Life is Unfair. suck it up and Play with the "Cards" You Were Given

“Life is unfair from the start, deal with it. Complaining about it will not get you anywhere. Do something about it. Nothing is guaranteed and you are not entitled to anything just because you think you are. That's life. So, assess what you have on hand, what you are good at (really good at, not you think you should be good at), then hone your skills and grow your resources to reach the next level.”

4

Learn From Those Who Have Done It Before & Ignore the Whiners.

“Seek Out the Top Performers. Try to find out what they have done before. Find a way to learn from them. You can observe, you can ask, it doesn't matter, just make sure that you find the right person to learn from. Also, some people always complain about the ones who are at senior level or have achieved a lot in their lives."

"These whiners will tell tales and bad stories about those at the top level who they claim to be all idiots or plain lucky. These naysayers will not help you reach the next level. They are just jealous of those who have made their marks and done better than they have. You will find a lot of people like that in any organization, it doesn't matter, just don't take their words seriously. Instead, focus and learn from the best of the best. Always.”a

5

take action

“What you think about, feel about, want to have, or hope to become are irrelevant if you are not doing anything to achieve them. Taking action is the most important and relevant thing that separates winners from losers, achievers from whiners. If you really want to make it happen, act. Unless you are a psychic who knows telekinesis, things won't move or happen for you automatically.”

6

Your Life is a Marathon, not a Sprint

“If life knocks you down and you fall, get back up and keep moving forward. You see successful people standing on the stage talking about their achievements, but you rarely see them talking about the times when they got hit by life and got back up again and again and again. Because to them, it is a necessity. Even if you start off slower than others, or your starting line is way behind the others, it doesn't mean you will lose at the end. Your life is a decades-long journey. It's not a 100-meter sprint. If you get what you want at the end, you can set your own pace.”

7

Find Your Own Way TO WIN

“Find your own way that works best for you. Trial and error. It doesn't matter how soon or late you find out what your formula of life is, or how others achieve their own successes. Of course, you can observe and learn from the more successful people, it is a good way of learning, like reading this interview. However, you are unique, so is your life.”

“Therefore, after you have copied and pasted others' formulas onto your own, remember to adjust so the formula works for you.”

8

you are there to win, not to prove yourself right

“Always remember that you are here to win, make money or achieve your goal, not to look good or prove yourself right. The world and the market are dynamic systems that are the result of all interactions of its players inside. There are billions of people interacting every day from all over the world in it, with every one of them trying to win against each other (and get rich or win against the crowd).”

“So, when you see something is going on in the market & the facts actually are telling you your original plan may be wrong, CHANGE your plan. Adjust. Adapt. Navigate. It is no shame at all changing your course of action when the facts are telling you something is wrong, even if you have told everyone else about your original view."

"Don't let your ego cloud your judgment & stop you from getting out of dead ends. You are here to win or to make money. You are not here to show off your skills as a prophet of predicting the future.”

9

AIM SMALL MISS SMALL

“You don’t need to always aim for the highest or lowest point to win. Professionals investors rarely catch the tops and bottoms of the market. World athletes don't win by playing the most difficult shots every time. Instead, they aim at the middle range most of the time, play safe, aim small so they don't miss first. Then, they patiently wait for the right time to smash big with their most powerful shots to get the winners.”

“Take stock market for example. If you know that Stock XYZ’s 52-week average price range is between USD 1,200 to USD 1,600 and that it usually fluctuates within the range of USD 200 to USD 300 every day, you don’t have to wait for Stock XYZ’s price to drop to USD 1,200 before you buy it. Instead, you can set your buy-sell transactions within the range of USD 1,300 – 1,500 at a USD 200 range. The chances of you making a profit of USD 200 range every time you complete a buy-sell transaction at USD 1,300-1,500 range will be much higher than if you trying to buy at the lowest possible price and selling at the highest point."

"Profit is made whenever your selling price is higher than your purchase price minus the transaction costs. That’s all. If you repeat this transaction repeatedly, you will be able to earn more profits than trying to catch the tops and bottoms every time. You can try this strategy for one to two months, together with my earlier suggestion of setting a stop loss. You will see the effect.”

"The same applies to other parts of life, sports and even business."

10

find time to think alone everyday

"Last but not least, always find at least 1 hour every day to think ALONE. Find that peaceful moment to quietly recollect yourself. Rethink your goals. Refocus your mind and energy. Review your day. Remind yourself of what you want to achieve. And most importantly, clean all the noises you have been exposed to throughout the day from everyone & everything else."

"It's one of the most important 1 hour you need everyday to ensure you can focus on yourself, your goals, your ways, you thoughts, and remove the nonsenses others put into your mind & cloud your judgement."
